Wendy is an award winning landscape painter from Norfolk in the UK.

The British coastline, countryside and the power of nature inspire her work as well as the urban footprint we leave on the earth. She paints in different media including  traditional egg tempera.

Her paintings are held in both private and public collections including  HM Queen and The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital . She has taken part in Sky Arts, Landscape Artist of the Year, as a wildcard

They say all paths lead to home. Mine certainly has.

Back in 2003 I was at a crossroads. I was recovering from cancer, had a young family  and a renewed passion for life. I wanted to channel that energy. I made a plan to go back to college and retrain but I couldn't decide on what for a long time. Courses that appealed were either access to Art which I had always loved or Science with a nursing module. I chose the latter, because I wanted to pay it forward and ended up with a 1st class honours degree in Adult nursing.

However during my nurse training I also started to learn how to paint using art as a way to relax and process my thoughts on personal experiences nursing the sick and elderly, life and the world in general. Things just progressed from there. In the end I got to do both. Its changed my view on the world. When you see how someone can be here one moment and gone the next you recognise how precious life is and appreciate every moment. I want to celebrate life and the  journey each of us is on and I think this feeds into my artworks

Painting nature and local landscapes allows me to connect to and explore our relationship with nature and wonder at its fragile beauty and diversity. Sometimes the muse in me is attracted to the strange and unusual. The man made planted in nature, that was once out of place, but now as it decays becomes part of the environment and absorbed back into the earth. Things that you look at every day but never really see. They capture a moment time and  tell a story of us. Of the world around us, our place in it and the endless cycle of Life, death and rebirth.
