When the Mist Rises (2025), by Wendy Kimberley, is an original acrylic and copper leaf painting. The artwork changes colour in different light, adding a mystical dimension with glowing underlayers. Energetic brush marks and scratches contrast with the calm colour palette. The scene shows early morning mist over  former farmland which is now a building site near Wendy’s Norfolk home. The three trees in the distance are the last few remaining standing  in the field after the bulldozers moved in.
